HAMBURG, N.Y. --- The 'magical' streak continued on Wednesday afternoon (March 27) for Magical Mistress ($9.90) as she posted her fourth consecutive victory by taking the $14,000 Open Pace for the fillies and mares at Buffalo Raceway.

Assigned to the eight post, the outside didn't faze Magical Mistress one bit as she used a first over trip and eventually wore down the pace setting McNatural N in the stretch drive.
McNatural N (David McNeight III) was able to take the top spot in the early going and posted fractions of :29.2, :58.2 and 1:28.0 over the fast track. But those splits weren't enough in the end as Magical Mistress (Jim Morrill Jr.) began her trek from the fourth spot down the backstretch the final time.
Turning for home, Magical Mistress slowly cut into the lead by McNatural N and eventually cruised away for the 1-1/4 length victory in 1:56.4. McNatural N held onto the second place position while Arco N (Drew Monti) captured the show spot.
Owned by Michael Mlazzo and trained by Candace Brandstatter, it was the fourth win in six tries in 2024 for the 8-year-old mare Magical Mistress (Camystic-Meridian Magic). The victory upped her seasonal bankroll to $20,430 and $338,453 lifetime.
Kevin Cummings and Morrill Jr. each had three driving wins with Joe Chindano Jr. and James McNeight Jr. notching a pair of victories on the matinee program. Angelo Nappo had two training scores.
Buffalo Raceway will return to action on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with a 10-race program slated.
