Hamburg, NY---Machman, a four-year-old gelding out of Mach Three won the $11,000 Open Pace in 1:56 for owners Arrhythmic LLC of West Seneca, NY, here at Buffalo Raceway Saturday night (February 16). It was the fourth win in five attempts this year for Machman, whose winning time establishes a new season’s best.

Machman ($6.80) driven by Billy Dobson, settled in second, as the favorite, and eventual third place finisher Cam Patch (Dan Noble) cut all the fractions in the race, :28.1, :58.1, and 1:27. Getting a perfect pocket trip for most of the race, Machman unleashed a :28.4 last quarter-mile, which put him 1-1/2 lengths ahead of second place finisher Gooch’s Bad Boy (John Cummings, Jr.) at the finish line.
Trained by John Mungillo, the $5,500 share of the winning purse put Machman’s season’s earnings at $15,284, and $68,927 lifetime.
